Each case below sits within the same structured process.
Initial concerns, context, and presenting needs are recorded.
Structured information helps identify the most appropriate intervention pathway.
Staff record brief notes, ratings, and practical observations during delivery.
The platform builds a clearer picture of engagement, response, and development over time.
Information is translated into summaries, pupil profiles, impact statements, and review ready documentation.
Important note
All case studies below are based on real delivery and have been anonymised and edited to protect confidentiality. In some examples, selected contextual details have been lightly adjusted to reduce identifiability while preserving the substance of the case, the intervention used, and the pattern of impact.
In several cases, RefocusED intervention data became the most detailed pupil specific evidence available to the school, helping staff plan support, inform teacher practice, and strengthen wider documentation such as transition planning and EHCP evidence.

Intuitive platform and quality resources
“RefocusED is a brilliantly intuitive platform for the management of student information and high-quality resources.”
Connecting systems and support
RefocusED is the missing piece of the jigsaw between behaviour-management and logging systems, and effective SEMH intervention.

Student engagement
I have delivered school interventions for four years, and RefocusED has been the most organised and impactful intervention I have had the pleasure of delivering. Students with complex SEMH needs engaged extremely well, responded brilliantly and regularly asked for more sessions.

Individualised support
I was initially sceptical, but the outcomes more than proved RefocusED’s value as a unique and much-needed tool. Its structured approach and progress documentation helped us identify patterns and develop bespoke support around individual students rather than relying on trial and error.

Regulation and confidence
RefocusED has been effective with our students, helping them improve their regulation strategies. The clear guidance in the mentor booklets also helped build mentors’ confidence.

Building relationships
RefocusED was easy to understand and gave me a valuable way to connect with students who were otherwise very reserved. I saw a significant improvement in behaviour.

Structure and flexibility
RefocusED was easy to follow and provided a clear plan, while still giving me the flexibility to adapt sessions for individual students. Students began regulating themselves more effectively and looked forward to taking part.

Student voice
We built strong connections with students and felt that we made real progress. The students enjoyed their mentoring time, felt heard and responded particularly well to a natural, conversational approach.

Behaviour Mentor
Practical coping strategies
Students engaged positively and began using the coping strategies they had learned. The programme was well informed, and support was always available by email or phone whenever we needed to discuss anything.

A pupil at risk of permanent exclusion moved from 31% attendance and three hours of one to one tuition a week to full time classroom education and 98% attendance, supported by Safe Starts alongside staff CPD and a committed, supportive school environment.
A Year 11 pupil who had disengaged from education reconnected with staff through Resonance, accessed 4 lessons a day, and went on to sit and pass GCSEs.
After relationship breakdown and unsuccessful reintegration attempts, Mindful Martial Arts helped one pupil reconnect with staff, regulate more safely, and return successfully to school life.
Pause & Progress helped a Year 11 pupil reduce avoidance, improve emotional awareness, return to a full timetable, and complete a full mock Science exam.
Ground & Grow helped an autistic pupil use concrete grounding techniques, reduce behaviour incidents by 72%, and complete GCSEs above expected grade.
A pupil with rising behaviour concerns used Pause & Progress to rebuild lesson access, return to English, and shift behaviour tracking from mostly negative to mostly positive.
