Our intervention offer
RefocusED provides structured, research-based interventions designed to support students with SEMH needs, including ADHD, ASC, and experiences of trauma or adversity (ACEs).
Each intervention follows clear psychological and educational principles, allowing staff to deliver support that is practical, measurable, and emotionally safe.
-
A trauma-informed, relationship-building intervention for students who need to re-establish a sense of safety and belonging. Suitable for those entering a new school, rebuilding confidence after a difficult experience, or beginning to form positive relationships again. Through movement, drawing, and guided reflection, Safe Starts focuses on safety, trust, and emotional stability before academic or behavioural goals are introduced.
-
A structured programme designed for students who struggle to stay focused, organised, or calm in lessons, often linked to ADHD, executive function, or SEMH challenges. Each session blends short academic tasks with strategy coaching, helping students practise attention, problem-solving, and communication skills. The goal is to rebuild confidence, independence, and classroom engagement through consistent routines and reflection.
-
Connect & Thrive supports students who find peer interaction or social communication difficult, particularly those with ASC or social anxiety. Sessions use structured games, problem-solving, and discussion tasks to build empathy, cooperation, and expressive confidence in safe, guided settings.
-
A calming intervention teaching grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and sensory awareness. It helps students manage anxiety and emotional overwhelm by recognising early signs of stress and applying practical, body-based regulation strategies. Ground & Grow is effective for students affected by trauma, anxiety, or sensory overload.
-
Resonance uses rhythm and drumming as an outlet for self-expression and co-regulation. The sessions develop timing, teamwork, and emotional awareness through rhythmic synchrony, helping students release frustration, connect with others, and translate emotion into rhythm and sound.
-
A physically active intervention blending simple martial arts routines with mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques. Students learn focus, respect, and calm self-control through structured movement. The programme supports self-awareness, reduces impulsivity, and builds confidence through physical and emotional discipline.
-
A reflective, art-based intervention for students who find verbal communication difficult. Through guided drawing and visual storytelling, students explore feelings, memories, and needs in a safe, non-verbal way. Draw & Discover builds emotional insight, confidence, and a deeper understanding of self-expression.
-
Centred on cooperative construction and task-based challenges, Build & Bond develops patience, communication, and problem-solving skills. Students work together on creative projects that promote teamwork, resilience, and trust—ideal for groups needing to strengthen relationships and collaboration.
